MBK Summer Snapshots
This summer, MBK Early Years is offering a series of free one-hour Summer Snapshot webinars, designed to help early years teams reflect on some of the key areas within the Early Years Inspection Toolkit.
Each session will offer a focused overview of an important area of practice, helping practitioners, room leaders, deputies, managers and providers to consider what this means in everyday practice, what may already be in place, and where practice may need to be strengthened further.
How confident are you that your curriculum is understood, embedded and visible in everyday practice?
This session will support early years teams to reflect on what a curriculum means in an early year’s setting, why it matters within the Early Years Inspection Toolkit, and how confidently the team can talk about what children are learning and why.
We will explore key questions such as:
What is your curriculum?
How well is it understood by the team?
Where does curriculum begin in everyday practice?
How do practitioners bring the curriculum to life through everyday interactions,
routines and experiences?
Why is curriculum and teaching such an important focus within the renewed
framework?

Risk Assessment is an essential part of looking after children. Whilst policies are no longer required under the EYFS the burden of Risk Assessment is high on Ofsted’s agenda and practitioners need to be aware of Early Years health and safety and their responsibilities in relation to risk and risk assessing in early years.

Building on from our Let them Loose course we have developed a new building curiosity in children course that is further designed to support and enthuse practitioners to deliver an inspirational experience for children, using natural and authentic materials
